This is Ms. Maureen Walsh’s third year as the Second Grade teacher at Saint Clement Catholic School. Catholic schools have been an integral part of her educational and work experience. She attended Assumption Elementary School for Grades K – 8 and Bishop O’Dowd High School for Grades 9 – 12. In 2011, she graduated from University of California Berkeley with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Education. Currently, she is earning her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at the San Jose branch campus of the University of San Francisco (USF). She worked at Our Lady of Grace School for two years as a reading group teacher, an instructional assistant and as a substitute teacher.
She loves working with children, and this love guided her toward activities that serve them in purposeful and meaningful ways. Her roles as a camp counselor for children coping with cancer and for children who have been adopted from the foster care system, a tutor, and as a caregiver for individuals with special needs and/or physical disabilities enabled her to be an integral part of their lives and fueled her desire toward wanting to become a teacher. She is grateful to be teaching at Saint Clement amongst such supportive teachers and parents.
