TESTING
Testing date for Grades 1-8 to be determined. Academic testing is approximately one hour in length; the Junior High Assessment (Grades 6-8) includes academic testing and an interview with the junior high staff. Interviews and assessments for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten are by appointment only.
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN (TK)
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program utilizing a preparatory Kindergarten curriculum. A child is eligible for Transitional Kindergarten provided they turn four years of age by August 1st of the upcoming school year. Transitional Kindergarten is a five-day per week program, Monday through Friday, 8:10 AM – 3:15 PM.
KINDERGARTEN
By California law, Kindergarten admittance requires a child to be five years of age on or before September 1st of the upcoming school year. Kindergarten is a five-day program, Monday through Friday, 8:10 AM – 3:15 PM.
FIRST GRADE
By California law, First Grade admittance requires a child to be six years of age on or before September 1st of the upcoming school year.
As a Diocese of Oakland Catholic School, Saint Clement may accept any child for whom an appropriate program can be designed and implemented following its prescribed enrollment procedures. Each child is to be considered for admission based upon his/her emotional, academic and physical needs and the resources available to the school in meeting those needs.
Students applying for Grades 1-8, whose records demonstrate academic/social readiness and a positive report from their previous school/teacher, will be accepted in the following order:
- Siblings of students presently attending Saint Clement Catholic School.
- Students whose families are registered and active parishioners who regularly attend Mass at Saint Clement Parish. Family registration must be on file and the family must be in good standing with the Parish Office.
- Catholic students from outside of the Parish.
- Other applicants who meet academic and behavioral requirements.
